Al Cramer interview, 1984 July 22.

Beginning in 1943, Cramer spent thirty years as a smokejumper and administrator of the program in Missoula and Alaska. He talks of the training and equipment and changes to both. Many jumps and fires are talked of, including the 1949 Washington, D.C., drop to publicize the Smokey the Bear program and the 1949 Mann Gulch Fire.
